With the formation of the first PFFL division with teams in Buffalo, Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, Dayton, and Fort Wayne playing a regular season schedule, the 1999 Pro Flag Challenge Tournaments will be secondary to league play, but will still feature top Pro Flag 9 man teams.

The primary purpose of the Challenge tournaments is to introduce the 9 man Pro Flag game into areas the league intends to form divisions for the 2000 season.

The 1999 Pro Flag Challenge Tournament season will again take shape in the form of several challenge tournaments to be played around the USA. The top eight teams will advance to the playoffs to crown an amateur 9 man champ. Four to eight events are planned with a maximum of $2,500.00* cash to the winning team per event. *Note: Cash award is based on minimum of 16 teams entered per event. Winners receive team plaque and championship tees.

The 1999 Pro Flag Challenge tournament champs will play the PFFL regular season champs.

Beginning with the 2000 season, regional divisions will form with six teams allocated to each division. Teams will play 10 regular season games on stadium fields with a full 60 minute regulation clock. Our objective will be to keep travel time between cities (teams) to within six hours, or 300 miles, allowing teams to travel without an overnight stay. After 1999, only franchised teams with players under contract will be allow to participate in the PFFL.
